The scientific-pedagogical analysis of the probed problem is conducted, the basic concepts of research are analyzed, essence of concept "research competence of future engineer-teachers" is specified, the retrospective review of organizational forms of research activity of students is carried out in the institutes of higher of Ukraine; the status of training of future engineer-teachers to realization of research activity is diagnosed. The necessity of making alteration at professional training of future engineers-teachers is substantiated.
