Essay

The dissertation is devoted to solving the actual surgery problem – improvement the results of surgical treatment of patients with impaired blood flow in the internal carotid artery through the prevention of cerebral hyperperfusion. It is proved that hypertension and diabetes promotes cerebral hyperperfusion. We found that broken Willis circle due to two or more of the arteries increases the risk of cerebral hyperperfusion. In patients with atherosclerotic lesions of the internal carotid artery on the incidence of cerebral hyperperfusion affects the degree of stenosis of ipsilateral and contralateral internal carotid artery, the presence of foci of cerebral ischemia. Clinical symptoms of cerebral hyperperfusion are ipsilateral headache, nausea, vomiting, emotional agitation, seizures. In severe cases, patients develop intracranial hemorrhage. There were proposed the classification of severity and ways of prevention of cerebral hyperperfusion in patients after surgical correction of flow in the internal carotid artery.
