The dissertation reveals and analyses creative heritage of the Podilian artist and teacher D. Zhudin in the context of art life in Podilya. The author investigates the trends of developing Ukrainian Art in the 19th-20th centuries; reveals the cultural and art environment of Kamyanechyna; exposes the artistic and pedagogical activity of creators of Kamyanechyna in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. The stages of D. Zhudin's creative work and his artistic preferences formation are being studied; genre diversity of the master's artistic heritage and individual image-making methods are being analysed. The significance of D. Zhudin's artistic heritage for the modern culture and art is outlined.
