Makogin A. Ukrainian Traditional Clothes As a Phenomenon of the National Culture (based on Western Ukraine clothing during 19th 21st centuries).

This research focuses on the Ukrainian folk costume as a structural element of the national culture, the basic function of clothing in traditional culture of the Western regions of Ukraine in 19th to early of 21st centuries. The factors that have shaped the stereotypes and have established clothes traditions, cultural and historical factors that have led to changes in the national clothing. Investigation into the historical and cultural conditions of new representative features in the folk costume as means of demonstrating national awareness. We found artistic and structural principles in the applications of the national customs in the festive celebrations and the folk costumes.
