Оbject: convicted person in conditions of confinement.Subject: psychological characteristics of an convicted person in conditions of confinement.Methods: theory-analysis, generalization and systematization of scientific data modelling; systematic and structural analysis; empirical-biographical method, generalization of independent characteristics of the subjects, their diagnostic examination. For statistical data have been used computer program Statistical Packege for Social Science (SPSS) 20.The scientific novelty. Firstly: identified specific manifestations of personality traits of prisoners and their impact on interpersonal adaptation to the environment and the conditions of confinement; established relationship of psychological personality traits of prisoners and conditions of confinement; developed structural model of the individual convicted and found it on the basis of empirical research identifying key component of psychological characteristics of the individual convicted of a period of stay in the conditions of confinement to one and more than two years; further development got the components of the acquired theoretical and empirical structure of the psychological characteristics of the individual convicted on both qualitatively and quantitatively and psychological mechanisms of influence on a person convicted under the conditions of confinement.The practical significance of the results lies in the enrichment of psychological science by the knowledge of the specific course of psychological manifestations in isolation and enhances the effectiveness of the rehabilitation..
