This thesis is a comprehensive study of the role and position of monitoring in the educational process of higher educational establishments and possibilities of its application to monitor the professional competence of future IT teachers. The basic components of methodological model of monitoring the professional competence of future IT teachers has been developed and scientifically based, the essence of which are major provisions of the modern theory of monitoring studies and science teaching methods adapted to our study.
