The thesis is devoted to the solution of actual scientific problem, the purpose of which is work-ing out the methodic of mode constructive optimization of two-and three-shaft expander-compressor units (ECU), in close connection with the improvement air separation plants (ASP) of the average tonnage for the production of air separation products - oxygen and nitrogen in a liquid or in a compressed state. In the thesis the choice of the most efficient methods of using the work of expansion of the air in ASP, schemes of the units and plants structures for their implementation. Proposed to create effective ECU based on turboreducers.
