The thesis research is devoted to the characterization of moulded crockery from the settlement and their funerary monuments of the Scythian period at the forest steppe part between the rivers Dnieper and Seversky Donets. There was done a historiographical overview of the study of moulded crockery at Dnieper-Donets forest steppe of the indicated period. There was developed a morphological typology, performed a territorial and chronological characteristics of ceramic collections. There also was analyzed the use of ceramics in funeral rituals: in the typical chronological, age-sex, social and sacred aspects. It was established that the origin of the basic elements of the pottery traditions of the Scythian period population at Dnieper-Donets forest steppe with the bearers of the Chornolisky-Zhabotinsky traditions. Population that migrated from the territory of the Right Bank of the Dnieper forest steppe to the basin of Vorskla during the Pre- and Early-Scythian period which became the core of the newly created community that since the middle of the VI century BC begins to develop wider territories of the Dnieper-Donets forest steppe. In the pottery of the local tribes there are reflected the cultural influences of the population of neighboring historical and cultural areas. Most of all, these effects can be observed in borderlands areas. In general, during the Scythian period in the region there was relatively stable in their ethnic and cultural identity the settled population which ceased to exist at the beginning - in the middle of the III century BC.
