Object - the process of professional training of foreign students in higher technical educational institutions; aim - to find out the influence of the substantiated technology of pedagogical support on the level of professional training of foreign students in higher technical educational institutions; methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - the research is the first to theoretically substantiate and experimentally prove the efficiency of the technology of pedagogical support of professional training of foreign students, the main stages of which are ensured with the means of pedagogical support and pedagogical influence; the definition of the term "pedagogical support" has been specified as a system of interaction of academics teaching professional disciplines and academics-mentors in teaching and training foreign students, directed at working out the individual trajectory of influence for every foreign student, that will allow them to efficiently develop the professional competence according to one's individual motivation, requirements of the curriculum and the level of readiness for his/her self-realization in the learning and professional environment; the specific feature of professional training of foreign students that lies in its combination with compulsory language teaching is determined; it is stressed that language learning is organized in accordance with one's specific professional sphere of training, the criteria and indices of foreign students professional training have been determined; the methods and techniques of pedagogical influence on foreign students personal and professional development have undergone further study; results - the theoretically substantiated technology of pedagogical support of professional training of foreign students has been experimentally tested and is recommended for the implementation in higher educational institutions. Theoretical ideas and practical recommendations of the research can be used with the aim of modernizing organization of practical classes devoted to language learning as well as in teaching practice organization, in class and out of class activities, for compiling teaching programmes, teaching manuals and for writing diploma and course papers; field - pedagogy.
