Essay

The data on the early diagnosis of poisoning of laying hens by lead acetate and its toxicological characteristics have been presented in the theses. The procedure of quantitative determination of ? aminolevulinic acid by highly effective fluid chromatography method has been worked out and validated. New data on the toxicodynamics and toxicokinetics of lead acetate have been received provided the long-term lead acetate exposure of the laying hens. It has been found out that lead acetate at the doses 75, 150 and 300 mg/kg of feeds does not cause any clinical symptoms of poisoning in laying hens but it leads to the development of toxic effects that are expressed in the morphofunctional changes of erythrocytes, the increase in the content of ? aminolevulinic acid and iron in blood serum, the decrease in the content of macroelements, the excessive formation of toxic lipid peroxidation products, the disorder of the functional state of liver and kidneys, the material accumulation of lead in the tissues and organs of poultry.
