Object of research - technology of machining of large-dimension thin-walled shells of revolution from cetalss. The aim is ensuring the quality of surface (the waviness) of thin-walled shells of revolution from cetalss of diamond grinding by improving the dynamic characteristics of the technological system. Theoretical studies were carried out on the basis of the provisions of: cutting theory, the theory of vibrations, dynamics of machines. Experiments were conducted using mathematical and physical modeling. Results of the experimental studies were analyzed by methods of mathematical statistics. The theoretical results were used to improve the mathematical model of the technological system of diamond-abrasive machining of shells from cetalss by improving the dynamic characteristics of the technological system. The practical results were used to develop ways to reduce the vibrations of the technological system during diamond-abrasive machining of shells from cetalss. The results of the study are introduced at the "Kvarsit" State Scientific Production Enterprise in Konstantinovka. The sphere of application is mechanical engineering.
