Essay

In the thesis the way of life of Chernihovo-Sivershchyna town population in the second half of 18 - the middle of 19 cc. is analysed in the terms of social and cultural self-expression of Ukrainians their complex of life's rules and traditions. It is stated that the language is a universal code of transition the cultural experience of different nations which forms the way of style. The thesis widely characterizes the peculiar features of the environment of Chemiho-Sivershchyna towns, the specific manifestations of traditional culture of various social classes. Also it includes the description of the urban population's life and its components: language, clothing, food, leisure; the traditional dwelling and its interior; gives characteristics of employment that had an impact upon the citizen's' life.
