This thesis is devoted to reclaiming Ukraine's priority in the creation during 1911-1914 of a working rotary wing aircraft (rotorcraft) with tandem rotors. To reach this aim, the author has recreated a complete picture of the history of rotorcraft construction on the territory of present-day Ukraine during the late 19th - early 20th centuries.
