The given paper provides theoretical generalization and the new approaches to the decision of such an important and urgent task as the working out and experimental testing of the model of Ukrainian Language teachers' socio-cultural competency development within a system of post-graduate education which includes the four units: the target one - aims and approaches in the educational process; content-based - the contents of education, major principles, pedagogical conditions; the technologies-based one - forms and methods, means of education; based on the diagnostics and results - the criteria and indicators, levels of development and results (raise of Ukrainian Language teachers' socio-cultural competency development). The structure of the sociocultural competency has been proposed; the criteria and indicators have been defined, levels of development of Ukrainian Language teachers' sociocultural competence have been characterized. In dissertation research the essence of such categories and notions as "competency", "competence", "sociocultural competency", "sociocultural competency of teachers of Ukrainian language" has been specified. The further dissemination of the methods and forms, activities used in the post-graduate education and contributing to the efficient development Ukrainian language teachers' sociocultural competency has been undertaken. The programme of faculty course "The Ukrainian Language teachers' sociocultural competency development within a system of post-graduate education" has been presented, the analysis of results of establishing and forming stages of experiment has been carried out.
