Essay

The dissertation is devoted to study of the characteristics of the reaction of cardiorespiratory system to respiration with positive end-expiratory pressure and developing ways of improving the functional capacities of cardiorespiratory system through breathing exercises with positive end-expiratory pressure in the elderly with phisiological and accelerated aging of respiratory system. Respiration with positive end-expiratory pressure 10 cm of water column for the elder people with physiological aging of the respiratory system and 5 cm of water column for the elderly with accelerated aging of respiratory system improves pulmonary gas exchange, blood oxygenation in the lungs. Respiration with positive end-expiratory pressure 15 cm of water column for the elderly with physiological aging of the respiratory system and 10 cm of water column and higher for elderly people with accelerated aging of respiratory system leads to deterioration of gas exchange in the lung, inhibition of pulmonary and cerebral hemodynamics, decreases cardiac output. Use of breathing exercises with positive end-expiratory pressure has a positive effect on the cardiorespiratory system and reduces the functional age of respiratory system in the elderly with physiological and accelerated aging of respiratory.
