Danko O. The Peculiarities of Professional Self-determination of a Future Border Guards Officers.

The paper identifies psychological background, factors, structure and the content of professional self-determination of future specialists. Substantive and procedural aspects of the dynamics of professional self-determination of future border guards are empirically identified, which lay in passing a number of stages, levels and cycles, depending on the cadets’ year of study and characterized by the following psychological peculiarities: motivation-need sphere alteration, redistribution of the value-sense sphere, strengthening of bents for this typeof professional activity. In the dissertation psychological characteristics of the process of professional self-determination of cadets of the State Border Service of Ukraine are revealed, on the basisof which the author defines the main directions of psychological support. Among them are: vocational guidance; psychological diagnosis of occupational suitability for professional activities during the professional and psychological selection of applicants and its subsequent correction during training; formation of professional conviction of cadets in the right choice of office’s affiliation; provision of psychological readiness of cadets for professional work as an officer of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Based on the results of the empirical research practical recommendations were developed.
