Didenko O. Academician of the VUAN R.M. Orzhentskiy (1863-1923) - scientist, teacher and one of organizers of statistical science in Ukraine

The thesis is devoted to complex research the life and work of an outstanding scientist Academician of the VUAN R.M. Orzhentskiy (1863-1923). The paper disclosed conditions and key factors of the scientific world outlook of the scientist. A study of active educational work of the scientist was conducted. It was found that teaching activity of R.M. Orzhentskiy was mainly focused on solving advanced scientific and educational objectives aimed at improving teaching and promotion of statistical science, implementing in latest scientific research in the educational process. It has been solved scientific and organizational activities of scientists, which reflected in the establishment of the Institutes, Society, seminars and departments (CSO, VUAN). As a result of these managerial skills R.M. Orzhentskiy made a major contribution to the further development of the statistical domestic science. In order to deepen the historical and analytical study carried periodization life and creative activity of the scientist. Display the scientific interests of the scientist managed by the study he wrote more than 30 works. Keywords: R.M.
