Essay

The work is devoted to the study of the pedagogical value of the Ukrainian Geographic Society. Theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of teaching, the value of the Company were investigated. The state of the problem in the theory and practice of teaching Geography and the role of the Geographic Society in the content and the structure of the curricula, textbooks, manuals that were aimed at teaching Geography were under consideration. The author determined the factors that influence the development of geographic education in secondary schools.On the basis of the comprehensive analysis of the philosophical, historical, educational, psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature in the branch of Geography teaching, the impact of the Society on the development of geographic education in Ukraine was discovered. The author found out its effect on the development of the methods of teaching Geography. Reasonable periodization of the main stages of the educational activities of the Ukrainian Geographical Society was provided.On the basis of the formulation of the suggestions on the content update of the school geographical education the methodical prognostication for the future of Geography as a school subject was developed.The thesis deals with the methodological value of the Society. The model of creating school divisions by the Ukrainian Geographic Society was researched. Methodical recommendations were provided for their successful implementation in secondary schools. The obtained results can be used in the school practice of teaching Geography as well as in the educative process of the future teachers at the higher educational establishments.
