The study deals with the problem of forming the subject of competence on the geography of Ukraine at the primary school students.Defined the essence of the concept of «substantive competence in geography Ukraine elementary school students» as a category of pedagogy and personal characteristics of the subject of integrative learning, which holds a set of integrative geographical knowledge; implementation goals skills training activities in the process of learning of the subject, has some experience of its organization, analysis of academic achievements and practical results with the definition of development prospects.Theoretically proved and experimentally tested a set of pedagogical conditions for effective implementation of the system of forming the subject of competence on the geography of Ukraine in the process of studying natural science subjects of basic school pupils: a) organization of students mastering basic school components of educational activity on the basis of the problem and design technologies; integration of educational Science subjects; b) initiation of the basic school pupils to active cognitive activity on the assignments and exercises, ensuring the formation of subject competence in geography of Ukraine; c) the use of a set of forms and methods, which ensures high quality and intensity of mastering subject (geography, landscape, demographic, regional studies, economic) concepts.The specified diagnostic research tools: Select levels, criteria and indicators of formation of subject competence in geography of Ukraine in the basic school pupils.
