Yarmak Y. Nostalgia in the context of aesthetic sights of Medtner: cultural analysis

The process of reflection of nostalgia and nostalgic modes (traditionalism and religious mode) in Russian culture of the first half of the twentieth century comes under review on the basis of Medtner's creative work. Relevance of the chosen topic is determined by the growth of scientific interest in nostalgia, as a concept that has long gone beyond its original meaning, and the need to study its various manifestations in culture. The analysis of the book "The Muse and the Fashion" and the epistolary heritage of N. Medtner in nostalgic perspective, revealed the wide range of opinions, abstracts somehow connected with modes of nostalgic. At work the relationship the connection of nostalgic and artistic processes is substantiated in the work by studying the specificity of the condition of nostalgic recollection and self - immersion and its role in the creative work of N. Medtner as an individual feature of his music creation. Using the example of N. Medtners "Sonata-Reminiscenza", the embodiment of the idea of nostalgic recollection in musical work, as well as displays of the nostalgic mode of "traditionalism" and "religious" mode, which define the genre, thematic and compositional peculiarities of the sonata and affect its semantic load, are shown.
