Object - psychological features of experience of crisis of average age of the personality; purpose - to define a place of role competence in structure of psychological features of experience of crisis of average age of the personality, and to develop system of psychological maintenance of its course; methods - the theoretical-methodological analysis, systematization and syntheses of psychological data on a research problem; psychological-pedagogical experiment in the form of the stating, forming and control research; methods of mathematical statistics; novelty - factorial structure of personal features of course of crisis of middle age is revealed for the first time which includes such components: "Role flexibility as determinant of semantic fullness of life", "Role depth as determinant of the internal conflict", "Competitiveness as determinant of career potential"; typological features of role competence of the personality during crisis of middle age are defined for the first time by allocation of such profiles, as "Adaptive type of role competence", "Role tolerance" and "Neurotic type of role competence"; ideas of psychological components which characterize course of crisis of middle age are expanded by allocation role and temporal qualities along with personal; ideas of distinctive features of crisis of middle age are expanded by definition at the end of its course of the valuable conflict and low level of orientation of the personality in time; means of psychological escort of persons during crisis of middle age are gained further development by creation of the program which provides assistance to development of role competence; results - the structure, typological features and age differences of course of crisis of middle age is defined; results - the structure, typological features and age differences of course of crisis of middle age are defined; the program of psychological maintenance of crisis of middle age is created which is recommended to application in practical work of the psychologist; area - psychology.
