Object – psychic states of students arising in conditions of the educational-cognitive activity; objective – to identify structural peculiarities and psychic states dynamics stipulated by personal, situational and pragmatist factors of the successful and unsuccessful students in the course of educational-cognitive activity; methods – theoretical methods, empirical methods, mathematical statistics methods; novelty – the 1st identification of the list and structurally dynamic peculiarities of psychic states of the successful and unsuccessful students at discussion session, lecture and in conditions of self-instruction; definition of the psychic states functioning system which “prevent from” and “co-operate” in achieving the aim of the students' psychic states at discussion session, lecture or in conditions of self-instruction; determination of regression equations forecasting actualization of the major functioning systems of the students' psychic states in the course of educational cognitive activity at discussion sessions, lectures and in conditions of self-instruction; specification of a role and contribution of personal (bottom-level beliefs, personal temperament and character factors, ambiguity tolerance), situational (educational-cognitive activity pressing, social support subjective perception) and pragmatist (activity self-organization, predominant modus of control of the activity) factors into actualization and support of psychic states of the successful and unsuccessful students in three basic situations of the educational-cognitive activity (discussion session, lecture, self-instruction); specification of the means of psychological provision of development of the students' psychic states self-regulation skills in conditions of the higher educational establishment study by mindset training; further development of the concepts of psychic states which are “in phase” and are “not in phase” with the students' educational-cognitive activity goal, the concept of the students' trans-situational and situational psychic states; scientific notations of the students' psychic states dynamics determinants in the course of the educational-cognitive activity; results – intervention developing program oriented to the students' states psychic self-regulation skills development arising in the course of the educational-cognitive activity may be applied for intensification of educational/bringing-up process of the higher educational establishment, the research results may be used in the course of professional preparing and professional development of practical psychologists; sphere – psychology.
