Pyliachyk N. Semantic-Cognitive Objectification of the Frame Concept NATURAL PHENOMENA in the English and Ukrainian Languages

The thesis suggests a new integrated approach to the study of semantic and cognitive objectification of the frame concept NATURAL PHENOMENA in the English and Ukrainian languages; all lexical units denoting natural phenomena have been classified into lexical semantic groups and fields and nominative domains as the models of the semantic objectification of the frame concept NATURAL PHENOMENA in the English and Ukrainian languages; the conceptual metaphors and phraseological units as the image models of the cognitive objectification of the analyzed frame concept have been reconstructed in both languages; the cognitive model of the frame concept NATURAL PHENOMENA in the English and Ukrainian languages has been presented; common and distinctive features of semantic cognitive mechanisms of its objectification in the minds of English and Ukrainian speakers have been characterized.
