Solodovnikova K. Socio-psychological framework for the analysis of the historical development of terrorism.

The research is dedicated to the analysis of social and psychological mechanisms of evolvement of a subject of terrorism. This dissertation focuses on origin and evolvement of terrorism in history of humankind - in particular its historical and psychological aspects - as well as social and psychological causes of this phenomenon. It also studies the phenomenon of terrorism in works of Russian and Ukrainian scientists dated ХІХ-ХХ as well as subject studies of foreign psychologists. The study outlines distinctive features of terrorism in modern world, psychological peculiarities of terrorism studies, main ways to approach the subject in studies of national and foreign scientists. Social and psychological portraits of a modern terrorist were developed under this dissertational research. The portraits define social (e.g. origin, worldview, education) and personal (traits of character, psychological type, psychological syndromes, emotional characteristics, logic of flow of thoughts) characteristics of a subject of terrorism.
