Essay

Subject – authorship as a sociocultural phenomenon. Object – analysis of authorship as a form of power relations in terms of multiplication of power forms in contemporary culture. Research methods – historico-cultural, structural and semiotic, hermeneutic, discourse analysis. Theoretical results and their novelty. Authorship is analyzed in the context of the process of multiplication of power forms. Firstly, as a result of linguistic and semiotic structures (R. Barthes), epistemological and discursive "orders" (M. Foucault). Secondly, as a form of subjectivation and "private moment of action" (J.-P. Sartre). Third, as a kind of "symbolic power" and, at the same time, the method of its transformation (P. Bourdieu). The concepts of "meta-authorship" and "para-authorship" were Introduced, which means: the emergence of the figure of the artist, who encroaches on the "symbolic capital" of a theory ("meta author"); and, accordingly, figure of the theorist, who encroaches on the "symbolic capital" of art ("para-author"). Prolegomena to the apophatic theory of authorship was proposed, according to which the authorship stands for analytic "remnant" which cannot be reduced. The ability of a theorist to name in authoring manner the irreducible "remnant" of the authorship phenomenon being studied is recognized as his "symbolic power". To categories of authorship as an irreducible "remnant" we attribute: " author-function" (M . Foucault), "scriptor" (R. Barthes), "genius-centaur" (P. Sloterdijk), "challenged authority" (S. Averintsev). Practical significance of the work. Conclusions and theoretical principles of the study could be used for further analysis of the problems of authorship and authority in contemporary culture. The results of the study may be useful to clarify the current copyright issues that constantly arise in modern multimedia and globalized culture.
