Dupai R. Foreign investment in relation to structural modernization of Ukrainian economy

The dissertation comprehensively investigates the fundamental effects of foreign direct investment on the structural modernization of Ukrainian economy and maintenance of high international competitive strength of the country, also providing the rationale for selective approaches to attraction of foreign capital into the key sectors of Ukrainian economy according the requirements predefined by the national interests. The economic nature and gradual evolution of modernization theories in the context of technological modes development are disclosed, factors of economy modernization with excretion of foreign investments features is systematized, specific mechanisms of structural modernization involving foreign investment in world economic practice are emphasized. A complex analysis of Ukrainian economy as a system object of foreign investment is conducted, the assessment of foreign investment influence on the development of the national economy and its structural modernization is conducted, forms and methods of foreign investment regulation and targeted stimulation in emerging market economies in Europe and in Ukraine are described and systematized. A strategic policies of structural modernization of the Ukrainian economy with foreign investment are offered, the priority use of foreign capital in the formation of an innovative model of development is substantiated, the mechanisms of foreign investments attraction and their effective use in structural economic modernization are suggested.
