This dissertation investigated the problem of training of future primary school teachers to work with mathematically capable students. The analysis of the philosophical, psychological and pedagogical literature showed a lack of specific studies on identified problem. The research clarified the nature of the key concepts "capability", "mathematical capability", "the training of future primary school teachers to work with mathematically capable students" and "the readiness of future teachers of primary school to work with mathematically capable students" as the relevant pedagogical problems. The research work provides the analysis of the current status of training students to work with mathematically capable children in primary school. The criteria, indicators and the appropriate level of readiness are characterized. We developed the model of professional training of future primary school teachers to work with mathematically capable students. It covers the objectives, organizational and methodological block (methodological approaches, principles, pedagogical conditions), the content operation block (stages of implementation of model, content, methods, forms of organization, training tools) and the estimated resulting block (criteria, indicators, levels), and result. A set of pedagogical conditions of preparation of future primary school teachers to work with mathematically capable students are theoretically substantiated and experimentally tested.
