Burlaka A. Hygienic substantiation of using modern methods of the water disinfection in the swimming pools of the educational institutions.

The thesis is dedicated to the hygienic substantiation of the feasibility and safety of using modern methods of the water disinfection in the swimming pools at educational institutions for identification the best of the methods and for improving the efficiency of swimming lessons, preserving and strengthening the health of children and adolescents. The general assessment of operation regimes of Kyiv's swimming pools at educational institutions was done. The comparative hygienic assessment of the results of chemical and microbiological analysis of swimming pools water quality with different methods of disinfection (chlorination, combinations of ozonation with chlorination, ultraviolet irradiation with chlorination, ozonation with bromination) was done. The water and air quality of swimming pools by the content of disinfection by-products (trihalomethanes) depending on the disinfection methods were studied. It was assessed the level of visitor's satisfaction of being in swimming pools with different methods of disinfection. According to the results, the optimal method of disinfection, UV in combination with chlorination, was determined. Finally, we have designed methodological approaches to assess water quality and regulations regarding the maintenance and operation of swimming pools at educational institutions.
