Essay

The dissertation research is devoted to the professional training of foreign language teachers in distance education system of Great Britain. Actuality of the thesis is caused by new understanding of a person, a new level of development of a society, the vital necessity of society in introduction of new forms of receipt of education, granting by everyone who wants to get educational services on the basis of the information technologies use. Education is one of the important areas of functioning of society, from which its development largely depends. The current state of Ukraine is characterized by its desire to integrate into the European Community in the economic, political, and in the educational aspects. This requires a restructuring of the system of education as a priority area for the formation of a citizen of a new society, the modernization of the content of education and training through the use of scientific approaches, implementation of new technologies. Theoretical researches and practical experience of professional distance training of foreign language teachers at universities of UK are generalized. On the basis of the review of major national and international documents as well as scientific literature socio-pedagogical conditions of organization of the distance education system in Great Britain are defined. They are external and internal. The organization of distance education as theoretical scientific and practical-educational phenomenon is analyzed; basic distance education technologies are defined; the main forms of the organization of distance education in the UK such as the centers of distance education, contract-based educational establishments, consortia and virtual universities are introduced. On the basis of scientific analysis the main features and principles of this form of education are specified. Thesis describes the structure of educational process; efficiency of its organizational maintenance is considered. The author describes components of getting of the qualified foreign language teacher status process in Great Britain such as: content, organizational-pedagogical and technological backgrounds of the foreign language teachers' training in the system of distance education in Britain. The dissertation reveals the basic functions and tasks of foreign languages tutor in British higher educational establishments, his professional qualities. As a result of generalization of the experience of professional training of future foreign language teachers in the system of distance education in Great Britain the appropriate structural-functional model is developed and characterized. It is defined that this model includes such structural components as: targeted, content, organizational and pedagogical and resultative. Development and formation of distance education in Ukraine is tracked. The current state of the higher pedagogical education in Ukraine is characterized. The content of teacher training in Ukraine and Great Britain is compared. Possible ways of implementation of the British model of foreign language teachers training on distance education in higher pedagogical education in Ukraine are certain. In further researches working out of new models of distance teachers training, in particular foreign language is possible.
