Thesis presents theoretical analysis of scientific approaches to study of the problem of psychological specifics of musical timbre impact on the emotional state of older school students, the essence of the leading concepts is determined, content of musical timbre as a factor of influence is considered, age characteristics of school students is disclosed in the context of this influence. Psychodiagnostic tools of studying of the emotional relation of school students to the musical timbre and their current emotional states are developed and implemented into school practice; criteria, levels, and development indicators of the emotional conditions of school students are proved.
