Essay

The dissertation is devoted to complex research of the professional, scientific and historiographical activity of the prominent Ukrainian scientist– gerontologist, academician V.V. Frolkis (1924–1999). In the paper for the first time is given the division into periods of creative way of scientist, discovered conditions and key factors in the formation of his scientific world view, founded and characterized the scientific and organizational work and pedagogical activity of V.V. Frolkis in Kiev Medical Institute, Institute of Gerontology AMS of USSR and AMS of Ukraine, analyzed the basic directions of his research in physiology, gerontology, pharmacology. Reconstruction of complete picture of scientific space of academician V.V. Frolkis gave the reason to conclude that he made the significant contribution to the development of national and world gerontology science.
