Serebryakova O. On nuptial mantic practices in Ukrainians’ calendar ritualism, its typology and semantics

Object: traditional outlook and traditions and customs culture of Ukrainians. Objective: comprehensive historical and ethnographic reconstruction and scientific description of matrimonial mantic practices as Ukrainian folk culture phenomenon, analyzing of its typology, semantics, functions, attributes symbols. Methods: historical and chronological, retrospective, historical and comparative, systematic, structural analysis. Results: for the first time provided a complex historical and ethnological research of ritual science and semantics of Ukrainian matrimonial divination, put into scientific circulation a significant amount of new field ethnographic material collected during field research, proposed the author development of typology wedding mantic practices, improved methodology of scientific analysis of Ukrainians marriage divination, conclusions on general-ethnic features and local peculiarities of matrimonial enchantment. Scope: for writing of generalized papers on ritual traditions and outlook beliefs of Ukrainians, for further study of regional and local specific of ethnic culture phenomena, the study of ethnology and local history topics in middle and high school, organization of cultural and educational events (evenings, ethnic festivals).
