Essay

The thesis analyzes the procedural rules regulating participation of individuals in international litigation within the international human rights law and international criminal law institutions focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects. In this paper the author has paid the special attention to the identification of criteria common for the European and Inter-American human rights protection systems as well as for international judicial tribunals of permanent and ad hoc character given the formation of procedural international human rights law and international criminal procedure. The other core findings of scrutiny concerns the European Court of Human Rights and Inter-American Commission of Human Rights' effectiveness in the procedural aspect and examination of procedural innovations within international criminal law alongside with practice of its procedural rules interpretation. The study has carried out a comprehensive legal analysis of the international human rights law and international criminal law within the context of Ukraine's necessity to enforce its obligations under international law as State Party to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and realization of the necessity to recognize the International Criminal Court's jurisdiction on permanent basis by ratification of the Rome Statute.
