The thesis is devoted to the peculiarities of functioning stunt in modern entertainment forms. Genesis of stunt and stunt show are traced in Antiquity and the Middle Ages (hunting game, burial rites, games and gladiatorial combats, liturgical drama, mystery). Historiography considers the concepts of "show" and "trick", clarifies definitions of "stunt", "stuntman", "director of stunts". The author proposes tricks classification on the basis of the nature of their performance, offers tricks typology on the complexity of their implementation. The author works a classification of tricks for all entertainment forms (14 classes). The basic methodological principles and approaches to education of movement stage of artist in film and theater schools are researched. The approach to comedy as trick movie genre is grounded. The works of filmmaker E. Ryazanov traced for what purpose tricks can be applied in a comedy movie. The author shows that tricks closely related to the special effects in modern cinema. Stunts and special effects of pre-computer and computer time are analyzed.
