Novikova Y. Innovative semantic and word-formative processes in derivative adjectives of the modern Ukrainian language.

Object - innovative derivative adjectives of the modern Ukrainian language of the beginning of XXI, the ways and means of new simple and compound adjective formation, types of their values and the peculiarities of their functioning in language and speech; aim - to determine the characteristics of semantic and word-formative structure of innovative derivative adjectives that appeared in the language at the beginning of the XXI century; methods - synchronous description with elements of comparative analysis, the method of structural-word-formative analysis, modeling method, contextually-semantic analysis, the method of quantitative calculations; novelty - the first time in Ukrainian linguistics a comprehensive study of common and individual-author adjectival neologisms formed both according to usual and non-usual word-formation models, with violation of the derivational and other rules and without them has been carried out, productive ways of such word formation on the basis of Ukrainian and borrowed stems have been identified, trends and patterns of derivation of new attributive words at the present stage of development of the Ukrainian language have been set; the existing theoretical achievements in the field of innovative derivatives have been analyzed, categorical apparatus and methods of derived adjective study in modern Ukrainian have been built; innovative adjectival derived units (common and the individual-author) of the beginning of the XXI century in the language of the media, online forums, literature and dictionaries of neologisms of modern Ukrainian language have been selected; innovative adjectival units on ways and means of their formation have been classified, their features have been clarified; productive derivational types of simple and complex derivative adjectives-neologisms have been described; the specificity of the implementation of general and partial word-formation values of adjectival neologisms has been defined; motivational attitude of innovative derivative adjectives to producing stems belonging to different parts of speech have been established; their structural-semantic and grammatical features have been analyzed; phenomenon of multiple motivations, as well as the divergence of the formal and semantic motivation have been fixed; cases of step-drop derivation have been found; the formation of innovative adjectives by means of hybridization of words has been characterized; morphonological changes that accompany the formation of simple and complex innovative derivative adjectives have been systematized; results - factual material, the main provisions and conclusions of the dissertation can be used in lexicographic practice, as well as in the educational process - in teaching courses on lexicology and word formation of the modern Ukrainian language, special courses on neology and derivative semantics; field - linguistics.
