Zahariy N. Ecology-geological and economic risks of development of mineral resources in Western Donbass

The purpose of this work is the creation GIS-model for mining district as a major factor of ecological safety. Originality of the research is due to a possible application of this methodology (using GIS-technologies) for the tasks of monitoring the geological environment. By conceptual model development there were considered factor natural and technical origin and the created technique for vector data adaptation in the spatial analysis. The following research methods were used: geoinformation technologies (thematic mapping), ranging, statistical probability method, spatial simulation and also information analysis. The assimilation potential of geological environment was suggested. The zoning of potential dangerous processes in Western Donbas mining region was conducted, and geoinformation database block was created for further monitoring of these processes. The method of forecasting of probable loss of capital territory and its components because of the threaten to arise negative changes the geological environment in the danger area caused by coal mining activities.
