The study includes the particularization of specific nature and concept of "heuristics", "heuristic activity", "heuristic teaching", "readiness to heuristic teaching". Content, structure, functions and forming stages of this complex personality formation are presented herein. During the study the criteria, factors and teachers' readiness to heuristic teaching were pointed out and the research program on forming of this complex personal characteristics as important feature of the teacher's professional competence was developed, as well as authorship course "Heuristic teaching" including methodical guidelines for teachers concerning the preparation to heuristic teaching of pupils.
