The dissertation is devoted to the complex research of scientific activity of the known scientist in the branch of veterinary medicine and animal physiology, professor M. V. Ryazantsev (1856-1930). Periodization of his scientific, pedagogical and organizational activity was offered. Contribution in the organization of branch educational process and formation of Kharkiv research and educational physiological center was characterized. Analysis and systematization of his scientific heritage were made. The role of library activities in promoting of scientific achievements of veterinary medicine was shown.
