The scientific work is devoted to one of the current problems of obstetrics that is the optimization of methods of postpartum period management in an in-patients hospital to substantiate the objective terms of discharge from in-patients hospital in Ukraine. In this work the psychological and personal characteristics of women with different parity of births were studied and women adaptation to motherhood after physiological birth was evaluated. It is proved that on the second day of puerperium the majority of women have formed psychological readiness for motherhood and discharge to home with newborns. It is noted that after repeated labor there is more frequent appearing of psychological disadaptation and unwillingness to early discharge from the hospital. The clinical effectiveness of liquid aseptic plaster in the management of parturient women with perineal rupture of first degree is proved. The normative echographic parameters of involutive changes of postpartum uterus during the first 48 hours after physiological childbirth were determined. It is noted that the maximum rate of uterine involution occurs in the first 12 hours, further the intensity of uterine contractions is reducing. There was determined 12 hours of postpartum period as optimal for screening and prediction complications, as well as the timing of discharge from hospital. The obtained results of the research of parameters of postpartum uterine are recommended for widespread implementation and the use during the first two days after delivery as criteria for assessing the course of the postpartum period and tactics choice of its managing and as screening method to identify early complications of postnatal period, and forecasting and conducting timely measures to prevent late postnatal complications. There were scientifically substantiated objective criteria for early discharge of women from obstetric in-patients hospital.
