Pominova I. Higher education as an institutional and economic platform of intellectual capital development

Object of research: institutional bases of intellectual capital. A research objective: to substantiate the directions of institutional transformation of higher education as the fundamental component of its development in the process of effective integration into the global economic environment on the basis of the analysis of intellectual capital and its modern forms. Research methods: the methods of theoretical generalization and comparison, statistical and graphical analysis, formalization and economic-mathematical modeling. Results, novelty: it was first proven that higher education in the epoch of post-industrialism turns into the platform of economic and institutional development of intellectual capital; introversive, extraverted and ambivert reproduction models of intellectual capital were first identified; the further development of the understanding of the evolution of higher education as part of the economic system on different stages of its development on the basis of changes in the fundamental and actual structure of its functions, evolution of the directions of its activity and immediate results; the systematization of institutional gaps in the functioning of the higher education sector in the process of development of the national component of the global intellectual capital and the development of tools measuring the level of national intellectual capital integration into the global one; the improvement of the definition of spatial non-uniformity of the modern intellectual capital and characterization of modern higher education in the process of its development by the means of distinguishing the processes of higher education internationalization and globalization.
