Koshchynets O. Medical and social justification of improving the prevention model of primary glaucoma

It was established that during a ten-year period in dynamics (2002-2011) the prevalence and incidence of primary glaucoma tend to increase, as the primary disability - to decrease. It was confirmed that the incidence of primary glaucoma is in direct proportion and increases with age (rxy = 0,94). The lack of correlation similar to prevalence, incidence is higher in urban areas, the lack of difference in its levels by gender, little significant change in correlation coefficients before and after standardization for age, below the reach of rural medical observation, the highest levels of disability in the population of mountain regions against the backdrop lowest indicators of morbidity point to the importance of medical and organizational factors to timely detect and prevent adverse progression of glaucoma.
