The thesis provides a scientific and historical analysis of the Poltava experimental field, a comprehensive assessment of its role in the development of agriculture and animal husbandry of Ukraine. Analyzed and classified the background of experimental field creation, methods and features of scientific and organizational process in the beginning. The characteristic of the scientific program of structural units of research fields, offered periods. Scientific programs of structure divisions of experimental field were characterized, periodization has been suggested.
