Kamchatnyi V. Scientific and education achievements of Professor I.P. Osipov ( 1855-1918) in chemistry

The object of the study - the development of chemical science at the end of the XIX - at the beginning of XX century on the territory of today's Ukraine. The purpose of the study - a comprehensive study, systematization and covering of the way of life, scientific, educational, organizational and social activities of professor I. Osipov, revealing the importance of his heritage for the development of chemistry. Research Methods are periodization for allocation of the stages of life of I. Osipov; biographical - to form the most complete biography of the scientist. Theoretical and practical results - in the thesis the biography, scientific, educational and organizational activities of professor I. Osipov, his contribution to chemistry are highlighted. Scientific novelty - the work is the first in the Ukrainian historical science comprehensive study of the life and scientific and educational achievements of I. Osipov in various departments of Chemistry; the full biography is illuminated by the first time, the periodization of life's journey of I. Osipov is proposed, his creative legacy that has deepened the knowledge of his personal contribution to the development and teaching of the departments of chemical science - theoretical, inorganic, organic, physical, analytical chemistry; history of chemistry was summarized; a large-scale social and educational activities is showed; biographies of disciples and followers are compiled for the first time. The degree of implementation - the thesis materials are in use in teaching the course of "History of Science and Technology", "General and Inorganic Chemistry", "Physical Chemistry" for students of NTU "KPI" in the museum's activities.
