Essay

The thesis deals with artistically semantic factors of Ukrainian cult object sacralization XVI - early XX centuries (based on the traditions of East-Galician region) and some sacred church objects. For the first time the issue concerning systemic foundations of sacredness expression of the researched objects and subjects in their structure was raised, the vision of these objects as effective "portals" of connection between God and man as well as its form expressions made by physical and allegorical dimentions of man's existence on the Earth were outlined and grounded. The expression of a symbolic and semantic paradigm of the main canonical provisions and factual determinations of Christianity through the forms of the examined artifacts was revealed in a complex way. The concept of modus expression of sacredness in its material and aspect as well as symbolic and imaginative desicions allows to interpret this phenomenon as subjective cognition and understanding of the world, the role of sacredness in it. The correlative relation between sacredness of the researched objects and subjects, their spiritual, hierarchical and procession bases, builders and artists' relevant consideration to implement semantically meaningful forms and decor elements of these objects and subjects was proved.
