Essay

Thesis is dedicated to the social communication study of the image of a hero in media texts of national (quality and mass) and regional print media. The study is based on the principal of distinction of heroes and media heroes (celebrities) in media sphere. Author developed a typology of the characters of national press, based on the historico-functional approach. Based on the content analysis of media texts the expedience of classical (hero warrior, culture hero) and non-classical (hero warrior, hero sufferer, hero professional, "small" culture hero) types of heroes detachment was justified, and the peculiarities of their manifestation and design in different types of publications were described. Received conclusions were verified using directional association experiment.
