Essay

The dissertation deals with the provision of the adult population of Ukraine of folic acid. The assessment of nutritional status of the population of Ukraine, the average content of folate in the diet of working and non-working age people in the summer-autumn and winter-spring periods, the consumption of certain foods rich in folate was performed. Folic acid content was determined in serum of women of reproductive age. The Ukraine population morbidity associated with vitamin deficiency in the diet of the adult population of Ukraine was reviewed. The international regulations concerning the levels of daily needs of the adult population in folic acid were analyzed and the comparative analysis of the current legislation of Ukraine was performed. The feasibility of a review of the norms of physiological needs of folate for the Ukrainian adults in modern conditions was evidence-based. The recommendations on folic acid needs for women of reproductive age were developed.
