Helesh A. The organization of research at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute (1960-1980 years)

The object of research is research and organizational activities of scientists of Lviv Polytechnic Institute (LPI) in a certain period as a process that is reflected in the mutual relation of education and science with the development of the industry. The purpose of the study is to conduct a comprehensive historical and scientific research on the organization of research work LPI scientists in some areas of basic and applied sciences. Methods of investigation are based on the principles of science, historicism and objectivity. With the general scientific research methodology, the following methods: statistical, systematic and multi-factor analysis, dialectics, classification, logic synthesis. Of special historical - problem-chronological periodization, updating, historicism, comparative-historical. Theoretical and practical results. Theoretically substantiated scientific works of scientists LPI during the survey period. The practical significance of the results is to highlight the historical results of science and technology in Ukraine. Scientific novelty of the research is as follows: for the first time carried out a comprehensive study of the organization of research work in 1960-1980-ies in the context of its impact on technological change in the production and application of its results in the training of scientists and engineers; It proved that the combination of research work was the center of scientific research and educational work in Western Ukraine; first substantiated periodization of research work in the LPI and highlights the characteristics of each of the periods; It covers the main areas of research and educational activities of the Institute in the appointed time, and it is proved that the result of its development took an organic combination of research and educational process at all levels of training; first obtained results of scientific activities of individual scientists, research groups, departments and laboratories, scientific schools in the field of basic and applied sciences in the LPI during 1960-1980-ies. The degree of implementation. The findings, generalizations and the specific factual material will be useful in the preparation of scientific papers for the history of the natural sciences in high school, history of higher technical education, the history of science and technology, publishing reference books, as well as in teaching special courses on the history of research work in LPI to universities in Ukraine. Area of use - materials of the thesis are used in the educational process of the Department of History of Ukraine and etnokomunikatsy National University "Lviv Polytechnic" in the teaching of the discipline "History of Ukrainian culture," according to the educational and vocational training programs for bachelors.
