The dissertation explores the field for the formation of interaction competence of pre-service teachers of the Humanities in the process of professional training. On the grounds of the stated problem stage of development analysis in pedagogical theory and practice, the meaning of the research basic terminology is highlighted. The core term for "interaction competence of pre-service teachers of the Humanities" is specified. The criteria and indicators of the formation level for pre-service teachers' interaction competence are defined. The structural and functional model is academically proved, as well as the technique for stage-by-stage formation of the competence researched is developed. The efficiency of the model is experimentally examined by means of the implementation of the specially designed course "The Formation of Interaction Competence of Pre-service Teachers of the Humanities" (i.e. for teaching English) into the process of professional training at higher educational institutions in Ukraine. The methodological recommendations and supplement materials for specialists at educational establishments are created, thus, help optimize the formation process of the phenomenon under study.
