Essay

Object: consumer culture of Lviv burghers of end XVI – early XVII century. Objective: comprehensive analysis of consumer culture of Lviv bourgeois environment in late XVI – early XVII century and clarification of its historical relationships and local features. Methods: comparative-historical, typological, historical and reconstructive, source study, cross-cultural analysis. Results: for the first time attempted a holistic understanding of consumer culture of Lviv burghers in end XVI – early XVII century, describes family relationships in an urban environment, reconstructed family customs and rituals of townspeople, investigated the specific of Lviv burghers clothing in the context of multi-ethnicity of city. Scope: for writing of generalizing historical and historical-ethnological studies, textbooks for universities, in developing of courses on ethnology, urban history, history and cultural history for students, undergraduates, graduate students of historical and other faculties.
