Essay

The thesis is devoted to solution of actual scientific and practical problem of determining the length of the low temperature drying of saw timbers by consideration of technological features of the process and possible initial and boundary conditions. It was set that the possibility of the low temperature drying is presented like a relaxation process. It was defined that an activation mechanism is present at the process of drying the wood and the numerical value of activation energy for different wood was found. It was received the average size of the cavities of the wood which take part in the process of the moisture removal during the low temperature drying and it was set the interconnection between the size of the cavities and the relaxation time. It was offered the method of calculating the duration of the low temperature drying based on the solution of the equate of the current humidity of saw timbers by considering thermo-dynamic features of the process. For the first time, it was received the coefficient that considers the irregularity of distribution of aerodynamic field in the cell and variance initial moisture content of the saw timbers to clarify the traditional tabular calculating method of the length of the drying which will continue the life of the products made of wood and save the forest resources.
